FrendZo respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how Phoenix Labs ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about users ("you" or "your") of the FrendZo mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: mobile number, name, gender, date of birth, avatar, preferred language, and other profile details you choose to share.
- Content: text messages, voice notes, audio/video call streams (transient — not stored), gifts sent or received.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Google Play / Apple. We never see or store your card numbers.
- Support communication: any email or message you send to admin@frendzo.com.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device data: device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, advertising identifier (when allowed).
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, call duration and metadata (not the call content itself), crashes and error logs.
- Approximate location: derived from IP address. Used for matching and to comply with regional law. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates unless you grant permission.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- Match you with other users based on language and other preferences.
- Process payments, credit coins, and pay out wallet earnings.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Improve and personalize the app.
- Comply with legal obligations under Indian law.
3. End-to-End Encryption
Text chat messages are end-to-end encrypted using industry-standard cryptography. This means we are technically unable to read your private 1:1 messages. Audio and video calls are transmitted over encrypted channels but are routed through our calling provider (Agora) for delivery.
4. Sharing of Information
We never sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers (Firebase, Agora, payment processors) who process data on our behalf under strict contracts.
- Law enforcement when legally required by valid Indian legal process.
- Business transfers if FrendZo is acquired or merged, in which case users will be notified.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we permanently erase your profile, contacts, chats, coin balance, and wallet balance within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate logs may be retained longer for analytics and abuse prevention.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- Access: you can view all your account data inside the app.
- Correction: edit your name, avatar, language, and other details from Profile → Edit Profile.
- Deletion: delete your account from inside the app, or via our online deletion form.
- Withdraw consent: revoke camera, microphone, or contacts permissions at any time from your device settings.
- Object / restrict: contact admin@frendzo.com for any privacy-related request.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls limited to authorised personnel. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
8. Children's Privacy
⚠️ FrendZo is strictly for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe an under-age user is on FrendZo, please email us so we can investigate and remove the account.
9. International Users
FrendZo is intended for users in India. If you access the app from outside India, you consent to your information being processed in India under Indian law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. The "Effective from" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
